What is the Definition of Niche
For the people who are looking to start any business, finding your Niche will be your first step. The definition of a Niche is “The market niche defines the product features aimed at satisfying specific market needs” according to Wikipedia here.
This principle works for online or brick and mortar business, both will have to have a niche to perform well in today’s business world. For the purpose of this article, we will refer to an online business as our focus.
This makes it quite specific, you cannot have information on shoes in a cooking niche. Can you imagine walking into a store that advertises cook pots and seeing nothing but jogging shoes in the foyer?
For those who wish to make money with a website in Affiliate Marketing, you must write about what the niche is about. This will allow your readers to find the information they are looking for.
A lot of people getting into an online business have no idea what a niche is or the best one for them. This is the biggest problem for beginners in online businesses.
I will help those people with the information in this article.
How will you find a niche for your business
Finding a niche for you will not be hard if you don’t make it. You should choose a subject that you have a passion for, you are going to have to write a lot of information on this subject.
Most websites do not see a profit unless they have at least two to three quality posts a week for a period of time of at least three months. This is just the tip of the iceberg as you will have to continue writing to grow your business online.
You do not have to have the knowledge of everything in this niche, you have to be willing to research and learn so that you can write and educate your readers.
Having a passion will help you with the long term work that it will take to get a website off the ground, if you lose interest in the subject, you will stop writing content and your website will wither and die.

What are the steps to a micro niche
Use Google to search for a subject that you are thinking about. Look at the results. We will use “Golf” for this example, this is a very broad niche.
Type in “Golf” in your search bar. Put an “A” after the golf. See the list of things that come up. You can do this for any letter. This will give you a list of Micro Niches that you can start with.
You can continue this with any letter after golf until you see something that really fits your needs. Finding the proper niche for you may take some time and effort.
It is better to start off with a micro-niche as you will have a better time developing traffic than with a very broad niche like “Golf”. Once you have developed some traffic you can work on making your niche a little bigger.
What will work for you may not work for others
Many people think that they just put up a website and people will come. Some people choose a niche that is very packed with websites. You can generate traffic with busy Niches, it is sometimes tougher. With a micro-niche, you will have a better time making a start and getting traffic.
Broader niches may take one to two years to develop enough traffic to make money, this is because they do not focus on one thing. Having a micro-niche to start with will give you faster results, sometimes in as little as three months.
Each person’s ability to help others with their content will be the difference in making a website or niche profitable. If you just write to sell, you will turn off most readers.
Writing content on a micro-niche that helps people with a problem is the quickest way to get people to find you on the big world on the web.
