Finding out what are the best keywords for search engines will be the key to finding the best free method for traffic for your website.

Tricycle tires related searchsWhen someone is using the internet to find information or an item, what do they do. The first thing that most do is go to their favorite search engine (Google, Yahoo, Yanex or Ask for some). They type in a short description of what they are looking for. This will give a list of information below the search bar. Most of the top ones will start with paid ads, they will have the AD in a little box before the listing. You will want to be on the first page below this.

How do you get there? Finding keywords that people are searching for without a lot of other competition will be the way. Finding a keyword that people are searching for and have little other websites is not easy, it does take some work and you will need a tool.

Also look at the bottom of your keyword research in google as they will give you some related keywords also, see image for examples.

Where do I find keywords

Finding the keywords that will lead to traffic will need some legwork and a keyword tool. The legwork will involve your favorite search engine, the tool will either be a free tool (Wealthy Affiliate has a good one) or a paid tool (Semrush or Jaxxy are two of the best). In this article I will use the free keyword tool from Wealthy Affiliate as this will give you the basics.

You will have to have a subject that you are going to write on before you start, this will help give you direction for your keyword research. Go to your search engine, I will use TRICYCLE TRIES for my research. I went to google and this is what I got typing that in.

There was only one paid ad and pictures to get to the first search engine post. This was from EBay a big website, as I looked down the list a little more only a few websites used this keyword for their site.

Tricycle tires Keyword resultsI then went to the free keyword tool for Wealthy Affiliate and typed in the same words and this is what came up. I will explain each column after the image.

The left column will give you your keywords and some suggestions. The second column will give you the number of people that are using this keyword per month for their search results. The third column will give you the number of people that will use your results if you land on the first page of the search results. Looking at the fourth column will give you the number of other websites that are using the same keywords.

Now what does this mean to the normal person, let me explain what is good and what is bad for you best results.

The first column will just be what you typed in for keyword and other related keywords. You can select any of the other keywords to see related keywords for that one.

Numbers in the second column will give you about how many people are using this exact search term each month. This number should be over 100 for best results. This one is 132 at the time of this article.

Third column will give you the amount of traffic you can expect if your post gets to page one. This one is 23 at this time or about one a day.

The fourth column will give you how many other websites are using the exact same search. The “tricycle tires” has a number of 102. This is a good number for a fairly new website to use.

How do I use my keywords

You should not just stuff your keywords in your article. They should be in the title, first paragraph and last section of your article. If you use them elsewhere you should make sure that it is natural, not just used.

Google will scan your article and if they determine that your keyword is found more than 4% of the time in your article, they may not rank your article very well. In the old days of internet marketing Keyword stuffing was a way to rank, not anymore.

My thoughts on this subject

If you take your time researching the proper keywords for each article, you will find yourself ranking on the first few pages of the search engines. This will lead to more traffic, more traffic means more sales, this is what everyone is looking for. I have found that my traffic is increased with the proper keyword use.
